Bios/Head shots Submission Guidelines
(Updated 15 Nov 2017)

Bios and head shots only need to be submitted once, unless you'd like to make a change. Your bio and head shot will keep it on file for as long as you are an active member of UNIPAC. To view what we have on file for you, click here.

If Bios and Head shots are not received by the due date, within the prescribed method, or do not abide by the guidelines, your bio and/or head shot may be rejected.

Bios and head shots should be submitted using the form on the right.  If you are having difficulty, contact Joey at unipac150@gmail.com or via text at (208) 880.9515.  Hard copies or handwritten bios will NOT be accepted.

Bio and head shot need to be submitted NO LESS THAN TWO (2) WEEKS BEFORE OPENING NIGHT unless otherwise instructed.
  • Bios/Head shots received after this time may not be included in the program.
BIOS
  • Bios may be up to 150 words (unless told otherwise via email).
  • A little long is okay assuming there is enough space in the program for everyone/thing else. But this form doesn't allow for more than 150 words.
  • PLEASE verify spelling of characters, authors, titles, and theatres!  And verify that the information is correct.
Bios should not be written in first person.
  • CORRECT: Mr. Calkins made his directorial debut with Dido and Aeneas in 2009.
  • ALSO CORRECT: He made his directorial debut with Dido and Aeneas in 2009.
  • INCORRECT: I made my directorial debut with Dido and Aeneas in 2009.
Titles of shows/productions should be in italics.
  • ...made his UNIPAC debut with A Hand of Bridge by Samuel Barber.
Names/Titles that require special characters:
  • Names, titles, or words requiring special characters (ie, wärmen, été, or Pietà, etc.) CAN (and should) be copied from another program and pasted into the submission form...unless you know ASCII Codes. (Alt + the code in the picture = the symbol. Ie., Alt +129 = ü)
Names of characters or roles played should NOT be in quotes:
CORRECT
  • Bill
WRONG
  • “Bill”
There are, of course, exceptions to this. I had a couple of performers who worked for Disney, but due to their agreement, they were not allowed to specify what characters they portrayed so they used descriptions of the character in quotes.

Roles/shows/theatre may be formatted in anyway, but please be consistent throughout your bio.

Other formatting/punctuation "rules":
  • I gave in on the "single space" versus "double space" between sentences/after a period. So just one. (I'm still not happy about it.)
  • The Oxford Comma is REQUIRED. Your bio may be rejected outright if you don't use it!

Performers may include their personal website.
  • Please post a link on your website to: www.unipac150.org

UNIPAC reserves the right to edit for length and, if necessary, for content.

HEAD SHOTS
  • Send your head shot full size! (20MB max)
  • Head shots will be cropped and formatted to be in black/white and .833”x1.25” (approximately) portrait style.  But please, send the highest resolution possible.
  • Photos should not have any writing on them.
  • If the photo cannot be cropped or formatted sufficiently, a new head shot will need to be submitted or the actor’s head shot will not appear in the program.
  • Due to time constraints with regards to editing, printing, etc, we cannot guarantee that head shots will be used in the printed program.
